    Protein Summary

    Pfam Update: This protein is no in Family: NlpE (PF04170) which already has a few structures.


    Gene SO_3163 from SHEWANELLA ONEIDENSIS encodes the NP_718719.1 protein with 150 residues and an isoelectric point of 4.77.  The NCBI blast sequence alignment indicates that this protein contains a putative conserved domain belonging to NlpE superfamily. Accordingly, NP_718719.1 sequence belongs to the uncharacterized lipoprotein NlpE group involved in copper resistance (PF04170). Analysis of its genome context by STRING provides a hit with the neighboring sensor histidine kinase NP_718718.


    3lhn is a structurally similar (Dali Z-scr=11) to the Cpx Pathway Activator NlpE on the Outer Membrane of Escherichia coli (PDB ID: 2Z4H) [Ref].  As seen in 2z4h, the crystal interface interaction suggests that the biomolecule of 3lhn is a dimer.
