    Pfam note : This protein is also now in family: AP_endonuc_2 (PF01261) part of the TIM barrel clan.

    Gene YP_001303399.1 from Parabacteroides distasonis atcc 8503 encodes the  corresponding protein with 334 residues and isoelectric point of 7.06. The NCBI blast sequence alignment indicates that this protein contains a conserved domain belonging to the xylose isomerase-like TIM barrel group (PF01261).  SCOP classifies 3l23 inside the alpha/beta class, xylose isomerase-like superfamily, IolI-like family. A structural similarity search via SSM (89% sse) and Dali (Z-scr=21) servers show that this protein is related to the sugar phosphate isomerase/epimerase (3cqk) [Ref]. 3l23 predicted active site consists of His196, Asp247, His273, and Glu 306.  A metal ion (Mg) is modeled in the active site.
