    Summary


    Fused frequently to the N-termini of Polysaccharide deacetylase and a few other polysaccharide binding enzymes. Always found in extracellular proteins with lipobox or transmembrane regions. One of the lipobox containing versions has been shown to be the ECF antisigma factor RsiV which regulates activation of two cell wall modification pathways, peptidoglycan O-acetylation and D-alanylation of teichoic acids both of which are carbohydrate moiety-containing molecules. This support a role for this domain in carbohydrate binding. Can be renamed RsiV-like domain in PFAM after this antisigma factor
