The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:1xg7) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d2abka_ classified as DNA-glycosylase fold. However, no sequence similarity to this fold has been detected. Based on fold one can hypothesize that this family is probably binds nucleic acids
