    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF06877 {Protein of unknown function (DUF1260)} with 191 members in NR database and additional 25 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:1nxi) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1j27a_ classified as Ferredoxin-like fold. However, no sequence similarity to this fold has been detected. Based on sequence and structure analysis/ original paper one can hypothesize that this family is could be involved in amino acid metabolic pathways such as that for arginine
