    Pfam family PFAM:PF06201 {Domain of Unknown Function (DUF1000) } with 200 members in NR database and additional 10 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Eukaryota. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:1xoy) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1w8oa2 classified as Galactose-binding domain-like fold. Profile-profile methods confirm remote homology between this family and superfamily of Galactose-binding domain-like; fold of the same name. Based on sequence and structure analysis/ original paper one can hypothesize that this family is sugar binding or protein-protein interactions
