    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF05256 {Uncharacterized protein family (UPF0223) } with 91 members in NR database and additional 1 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2oy9) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d1v54h_ classified as BH2638-like fold. (Note: new fold solved by PSI). However, this partial similarity is not sufficient for fold assignment. Thus it is a novel fold.
