    Summary

    Pfam family PFAM:PF04378 {Protein of unknown function (DUF519) } with 379 members in NR database and additional 167 members in the metagenomic datasets is represented in Bacteria. The first structural representative solved (PDB Id: TOPSAN:2oo3) was subject to FATCAT structural similarity search that indicated similarity to SCOP (v. 1.73) domain SCOP:d2cl5a1 classified as S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase fold. Profile-profile methods confirm remote homology between this family and superfamily of S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferases; fold of the same name. Based on remote homology confirmed by the structure one can hypothesize that this family is probably involved in transfer of methyl group
